Saturday, February 6th | Learning to Walk in the Dark
Prince of Peace Women of the ELCA’s February retreat is based upon the book “Learning to Walk in the Dark” by Barbara Brown Taylor. The retreat will include a presentation of the theme, reflection time, prayer stations, craft and worship.
Our fellowship together will begin at 8:30am in the Parish Hall with coffee and pastries. The retreat will start at 9:00am and end around 2:00pm. Lunch will be served at noon. The cost of the retreat is $5.00, which includes lunch and will be collected on that day.
We invite all women to participate and enjoy this time of learning and fellowship. A sign-up sheet will be available in the portico on Sundays during the month of January (or just sign up below!).
January 23rd at 9:30am
In preparation for the 2017 500 Years Anniversary, the Women of the ELCA invite you to join us in learning more about the Reformation & Martin Luther’s life. We will hear about key people and seminal events in the church’s growth over the past 500 years. The event will be held at:
Hope Lutheran Church | 1801 62nd Avenue N. | St. Petersburg, FL 33702
We will also have an opportunity to meet theologians who will help us learn about many important events that occurred during these 500 years. All are welcome, and a free-will offering will be received at the event to help sponsor our women’s groups, our community and outreach to young women in need.
November 21st, 1pm-4pm at Creative Clay
We’re going to “engineer” the Creative Clay studio for communication for their Member Artists. Through a Thrivent Action Team project, the group will laminate and install communication prompts for CC’s non-verbal clients. After a quick dinner downtown, we will have the opportunity to paint our own masterpiece with famous local artist Marc Levasseur.
Come prepared to purchase dinner and bring $15 for supplies to paint your masterpiece! RSVP by November 13th! Questions? Email Denise Baringer at email@example.com.
Sunday, December 6th | Parish Hall, 6pm
We invite all women and girls to share in the meaning of Christmas, a potluck meal, and Christian friendship! We’ll enjoy the Symbols of Christmas, presented by Tracy Moffatt, Vice President of the Florida-Bahamas Synodical Women’s Organization.
As we fellowship and share together, we’ll sing carols of the season! Bring a Christmas staple to be given to Isaiah’s Inn. There will be a Thank Offering (no pennies please). Sign-up sheets can be found in the portico.
