Art For Faith’s Sake
Dear Friends,
It is our great joy to invite you into another season of extraordinary music in the beautiful sanctuary of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. Art for Faith’s Sake celebrates God’s gift of music, both sacred and secular alike. From the dancelike playful sounds of a violin-guitar duo, to the chorus of an ensemble of trombones, this season celebrates music we love brought to life by some of the finest musicians from across the world.
Our magnificent Austin pipe organ (opus 2089) turns 80 years old this fall, and will be showcased in a variety of settings throughout the season. On November 1, the organ takes on new life as we step back in time to enjoy the 1925 silent film The Phantom of the Opera accompanied by the resident organist of the Alabama Theatre. In February our beloved annual Three Organ Spectacular returns, and in March we welcome renowned organist Richard Elliott from the Mormon Tabernacle in a special Saturday evening concert.
Our worship offerings are equally rich. Choir, instruments, and organ fill our beautiful sanctuary each Sunday and on feast days of the church year. These meaningful traditions are woven into the life of our community. From a reflective Christmas morning with familiar carols accompanied by violin, to the fanfare of choir, brass, and organ proclaiming the Easter message, come and enjoy this gift of music.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for your continued support and enthusiasm. Your dedication truly sustains our series, and your financial gift ensures the vitality of our artistic and liturgical traditions. Our series is fully funded by contributors, like you, and does not receive funds from the church budget. All funds help cover the costs of hiring guest artists and fostering artistic relationships in Largo, Clearwater, and beyond.

The 1925 classic silent film will be played on the big screen featuring organist Tom Helms playing his original score on the Austin pipe organ.

Lessons & Carols with Santa Lucia Procession
A service of worship followed by the telling of the story of Santa Lucia and cookie reception. Festival choir, organ, handbells, and Baroque trio.
Wed, January 6, 2027, at 6pm
Epiphany Feast of Lights
Commemorating the visit of the wisemen with readings, prayer, and song.

Cavatina Due
This Chicago-based duo is comprised of Spanish flutist Eugenia Moliner and Bosnian guitarist Denis Azabagić, is widely recognized as one of the world’s foremost flute and guitar duos.

Dinner & Hymn Sing
A spaghetti dinner is served in the Parish Hall, followed by an old-fashioned hymn sing with dueling pianos. Tickets ($15) are required and will be available in January.

Three Organ Spectacular
Featuring Seth Bott, John Lowe, and Shawn Thomas. The Festival Choir performs Louis Vierne’s Mass for Choir and Two Organs, along with other music for three organs. Featured organs provided by Central Music (Clearwater, FL).
