Let Christ be our light this Advent season, and let it shine through these faithful works. Lutheran Services Florida (LSF) & Eckerd Community Alternatives have partnered to provide foster children with a brighter Christmas this holiday season.
Eckerd is a national non-profit youth and family service organization that has given much-needed second chances to over 150,000 children and families. Together with local non-profit agencies like LSF they provide case management, adoption and independent living services for children and teens who have been victims of child abuse or neglect.
Our Angel Tree is in the Narthex once again this year. Each “Angel” represents one of these children in need – every child gets four gift wishes, and each Angel tag reflects one of their wishes. With ages ranging from infancy to teens, you can select an angel (or two, or more!) in order to help a child in need receive their Christmas gift wishes! Many times, older teenagers’ wishes may get overlooked, so this year we will also be collecting gift cards to anywhere in any amount for teens.
Be sure to bring unwrapped gifts and gift cards (with the original Angel attached) back to the church by Wednesday, December 12th. May we always be inspired through God’s peace and love. Thank you! Questions? Contact Angie Pryor: 727.768.9961 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
