We’re kicking off our Sunday School year and Wednesday nights with an opportunity to “reach out.”
In the fall, we’ll take the time to be intentional about inviting others into the mission and ministry we share. Let’s gather in the Parish Hall and kick-start a new season!
On Sundays August 5th & 12th, reusable grocery bags will be distributed after worship. Each family is encouraged to take two bags – fill up one bag with food and personal hygiene supplies for RCS (see list below) and share the second bag with a friend or neighbor to fill. Bring your filled bag on August 19th; your neighbor is encouraged to bring theirs, too! If they are unable be with us that day, they can return their bag to you. When we gather for Rally Day, we will collect these donations and prepare food packs and hygiene kits that can be distributed to those in need.
- Canned Soup
- Canned Fruit (non-syrup)
- Beans – canned or dried
- Canned Meats (tuna, chicken, chili, stews, low sodium hearty soups)
- Canned Veggies (beans, greens, tomatoes, low sodium)
- Cereal – low sugar, high fiber
We will also have the opportunity to look back at all the ministry that has taken place at PoP over the summer: photos and stories from VBS, the ELCA Youth Gathering, and camp at Luther Springs and Lutheridge. Rally Day will also provide a snapshot of our year ahead – from adult learning opportunities to youth and children ministry as well as choir and handbell opportunities. Come – join us for a day of service, celebration and learning…and bring a friend!
