Welcome, Dr. Linda Pointer – Interim Parish Musician

We welcome our interim Parish Musician, Dr. Linda Pointer to Prince of Peace!

Since receiving her degree in Organ & Church Music from Indiana University, Linda has taught at universities and has served in congregations throughout the southeast. Over the years in our area, Linda has served congregations of many denominations, supporting them with her organ and piano talents as well as her abilities to inspire choirs and conduct guest musicians.

We are blessed to have Linda among us during our search for a full-time Parish Musician.

Celebrating Donald Rolander

Sunday, November 5 is All Saints’ Sunday.

It also happens to be the last Sunday that our brother in Christ, Donald Rolander will be “on the bench” supporting our song together as God’s people. Read More on Don’s retirement & celebrations here…

Don’s tenure here has spanned decades. His contacts in the community run long and deep. His devotion to our Lord in our worship life together has been a blessing for us in every season. In fact, most of us here have never known PoP without Don’s hands on the manuals and feet on the pedals.

As you know, we have planned a special event in Don’s honor on January 21. There are still tickets available. The cost is $10; the congregation will pay all additional costs. You may get tickets from choir members after worship outside the front door of the sanctuary or contact the Church Office. Seating is limited.

On November 5, we will have a reception immediately following 11AM worship with light refreshments to mark Don’s last Sunday.

 

Donald Rolander, Parish Musician, Retires

Our brother in Christ, Don Rolander, will be retiring soon. All Saints’ Sunday, November 5 will be his last day “on the bench” supporting our congregational song. On that day after 11 AM worship we will have a very special reception in Don’s honor. Read More Here…

We have set aside Sunday, January 21 for a luncheon to celebrate our friend’s ministry with us over 42 years.  The event will take place after worship on that day at the Clearwater Country Club starting at 1:30PM. There will be gifts, stories to share and lots of fun.

We encourage you to make your reservations now for the January event. The cost per person is $10. The actual cost is more, but the congregation is paying that additional amount. In order to accommodate everyone, the planning team asks that you make reservations as soon as possible. All reservations need to be made by November 15. Capacity of the facility limits our seating for this event to 200.

During the Sundays of October, Lois Joldersma and Marian Wuertz will be outside the sanctuary on Sunday mornings to greet you and receive your reservation. You may also contact the Church Office.
